Children's Theatre Workshop 2004 & 2005

Through this workshop participants developed an understanding of the theory and practice of drama, and of their interrelation, through an intensive introduction to the basic elements of dramatic performance (space, audience, performer, tension, language, action).
Through the practical exploration of concepts introduced in the workshops participants began to think critically about a range of dramatic forms and styles, and developed their own vocabulary to express their ideas through the practical workshops component of the course.
There was a strong emphasis on group work which encouraged participants to appreciate the collaborative nature of making and experiencing drama. 20 graduating children from this workshop went on to play important characters in the children drama series Subramani and Friends!
